
Our Story
Mon Delice French Bakery in New Smyrna Beach, Florida has been offering authentic French food since 1976. They are well known for artisan breads, pastries, pies, custom cakes, and wines.
A Leader with Heart
Serge Sorese is an innovative entrepreneur, award-winning pastry chef, active community advocate, and devoted family man. He has been the heart and soul of Mon Delice French Bakery for the past 31 years. Mon Delice has been serving authentic French food to visitors and locals of New Smyrna Beach, Florida since it opened the doors in 1976.
Since acquiring Mon Delice from its original owners in 1992, Serge and his capable crew have been preparing amazing French bread, pastries, croissants, pies and custom cakes. Mon Delice is well known for their beautiful artisan breads, prepared the way they would be in France.
The bakery also offers wines from the Provence region of France where Serge grew up. In addition, coffee and delicious breakfast sandwiches are offered daily. Mon Delice is open every day of the year except Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day.


The Early Days
Serge grew up in Bormes Les Mimosas, located on the French Riviera. He is the son of restaurant owners and discovered his culinary skills early in life while working with his parents in a traditional French café. As he says, “I grew up in a very small village in the South of France. I love the water. I love the ocean. I love New Smyrna Beach.”
Serge’s formal education is in accounting, and he also served in the French military. Serge also has several years of experience working professionally in restaurants in France, England and the United States, as well as for the Premier Cruise Line.
An Active Community Member
Serge has a passion for New Smyrna Beach and is actively involved in numerous community programs. Currently, he is an active member of the local Rotary Club and the Boys and Girls Club. He is one of the founders of the A+ Committee of NSB whose sole mission is to fundraise for the local Boys and Girls Club. Serge is also a member of the Southeast Volusia County Chamber of Commerce.
Serge is always happy to contribute to any local charity and fundraiser.


Leading by Example
Under Serge’s leadership Mon Delice has received the Star of the South award for best bakery since the award’s inception.
Serge has also received community recognition for his active support of local organizations including the Boys & Girls Club, Cancer Society, New Smyrna Beach Police Department, Volusia County Sheriff’s Department, March of Dimes, Easter Seals, Missing Children’s Organization, Human Society, Habitat for Humanity, and the Rotary Club of New Smyrna Beach.
